El Reno boards and council take up budgets, dilapidated structure appeal, mobility hub
El Reno's city council and three municipal authorities met the week of Aug. 11 with largely procedural agendas, though the council's list included an appeal over a dilapidated structure and a proposed agreement for the El Reno Mobility Hub and Downtown projects. Minutes from these meetings have not yet been published, so no decisions are confirmed.
City Council
The City Council's Aug. 11 agenda included an untimely appeal by Damani Rivers of a code hearing officer's finding that a structure at 100 E. Foreman Drive is dilapidated and should be removed. The council also heard a presentation from Freese and Nichols on an agreement for the El Reno Mobility Hub and Downtown El Reno Projects.
Other items on the consent agenda included a final payment of $43,270.27 to SAC Services, Inc. for Sunset Trail Phase No. 2, a School Resource Officer agreement with El Reno Public Schools for 2026-2027, and a rezoning of property at 4893 N. Alfadale Rd. from A-1 to A-2 and RE (Ordinance No. 9416). The council also planned to enter executive session to discuss the city manager's employment.
Municipal Authority
The Municipal Authority met Aug. 11 to consider a professional services agreement with Myers Engineering, Consulting Engineers, Inc., and budget amendments for fiscal years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. No discussion items were listed.
Recreational Authority
The Recreational Authority also met Aug. 11, with a consent agenda that included appointing five advisory board members: two for three-year terms expiring June 2029, two to fill terms expiring June 2028, and one to fill a term expiring June 2027. The board also approved minutes from its July 14 meeting and budget amendments for both fiscal years.
Airpark Authority and Advisory Board
The Airpark Authority met Aug. 11 to appoint one advisory board member for a term expiring June 2029 and to approve budget amendments for both fiscal years, along with minutes from July 14.
The Airpark Authority Advisory Board met Aug. 13 to discuss updates on FBO, bulk hangar, and box hangar projects, a new logo and branding, the upcoming Oct. 10 airshow, and airport improvement suggestions. The board also considered developing central hangar use rules for lease signings and enforcement, and discussed the timeline for Hangar #1. Reports were scheduled from the Assistant City Manager, City Manager, and Airport Manager. The board also noted a new 90-foot antenna mast and a quote to move the old one to the maintenance hangar.
Coming up
The Municipal Planning Commission will meet Aug. 25 to consider a partial vacation of the Crossroads Pointe Phase II plat, removing a 25-foot cross-access easement along the eastern boundary of Lot 1. The consent agenda includes approval of the June 23, 2026 meeting minutes. The meeting is open to the public, with accommodations available upon request.
