Cumberland County boards to weigh jail items, zoning cases

Over the past two weeks, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners and the Joint Planning Board held meetings to consider a range of items, including a jail health plan, a Tobacco 21 resolution, and six zoning cases. Board of Commissioners (Aug. 13)

The board's regular agenda session included a presentation on the Cumberland County Detention Center Jail Health Plan, a Tobacco 21 resolution, a DSS workload analysis, and an electrical easement request for the Parkton-Brisson Container Site. The board also received a fee waiver report for flu, COVID, and RSV. The meeting included project updates and monthly reports, followed by a closed session for attorney-client matters.

Board of Commissioners (Aug. 17)

The board met to consider a consent agenda with routine items, including proclamations, service agreements, budget amendments, and a bid award. • Rezoning 0.49 acres at 5715 Camden Road from R10 to C(P) (ZON-26-0040)
• Rezoning 8.33 acres on Wilkes Road from R6A to M(P) (ZON-26-0041)
• Rezoning 15.92 acres east of Dunn Road from C(P) to A1 (ZON-26-0044)

The board also considered a text amendment to off-street parking standards (ZON-26-0047).

Cumberland County boards weigh transit, tax, and infrastructure items; no decisions yet public

Cumberland County commissioners and two of their committees met this week to consider a range of financial, transit, and infrastructure items. Official minutes have not yet been published, so no decisions or vote tallies are available. The agendas, however, show the board took up tax collection, a regional transit study, and several solid-waste service agreements.

Board of Commissioners – August 3

The full board met on August 3 with a consent agenda that included:
