Shelbyville Plan Commission approves TIF district for Deer Valley Apartments; City Council to consider bonding July 6

The Shelbyville Plan Commission on June 22 voted 8-0 to establish a tax-increment financing (TIF) allocation area for the DJM Deer Valley Apartments project, a market-rate apartment development. The commission determined the location aligns with the city’s comprehensive plan. The approval, via Plan Commission Order #26-01, is the most consequential decision from the past two weeks, clearing a financial incentive path for the project.

Earlier on June 22, the Livable Communities Coalition met and approved an open/flat layout for a “Did You Know” flyer about senior meals. Don will distribute the flyers at an Action Club meeting. No funding decisions were made.
