Butte County boards to weigh road repairs, drainage plan, and new budgets
Three Butte County boards met Aug. 11 to consider items ranging from a $231,211 road repair contract to a $4,400 cemetery budget. Minutes from those meetings have not yet been published, so no decisions are confirmed. The Board of Supervisors also has a full agenda for its Aug. 25 meeting.
Butte County Board of Supervisors (Aug. 11)
The Board of Supervisors considered a consent agenda that included a $231,211 contract to VSS International for Rosewood Drive repairs in Magalia, a $56,000 budget amendment for two ballot tabulators (75% grant-funded), and salary ordinance changes affecting multiple departments.
On the regular agenda, the board was set to adopt a new Job Order Contracting policy for streamlined public works projects and accept the Palermo Master Drainage Plan as a planning document for flood mitigation. All items were listed as agenda items only; no minutes have been published.
Thompson Flat Cemetery District (Aug. 11)
The Thompson Flat Cemetery District Board of Trustees was scheduled to adopt a $4,400 budget for fiscal year 2026-27, funded by $5,118 in property tax revenue. The budget covers routine expenses and unanticipated maintenance. The board also planned to approve minutes from its May 12, 2026 meeting.
Butte County Groundwater Sustainability Agency (Aug. 11)
The Groundwater Sustainability Agency considered a resolution adopting a $140,700 budget for fiscal year 2026-27. The funds cover consulting, engineering, and monitoring costs tied to the Butte Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan. Each of the 11 GSAs in the subbasin would contribute $12,790.91. The board also planned to approve minutes from its August 2025 meeting.
