Bridgewater commissions approve property projects; Board of Selectmen weighs road, tax items
Bridgewater's land-use commissions approved several residential property projects in recent meetings, including a building addition on Hemlock Road and pool houses and a shed on Allen Road and Northrop Street. The Board of Finance's regular meeting was cancelled, and the Board of Selectmen's agenda listed road markings, tax refunds, and short-term rental discussions.
Conservation & Inland Wetlands Commission — July 7
The commission approved two property applications unanimously. A building addition at 54 Hemlock Road (Application #W 26-6-1) and a pool house at 20 Allen Road (Application #W 26-6-2) each received unanimous approval. The commission also approved its June 2, 2026 meeting minutes unanimously.
Planning & Zoning Commission — July 16
The commission approved minutes from its June 18 public hearing and regular meeting, both unanimously. It then approved a revised pool house application for 20 Allen Road, including a two-piece bathroom, unanimously. The same property at 20 Allen Road had also been before the Conservation & Inland Wetlands Commission the prior week. The commission also approved a 10'x19' shed for Little Rocky Ledge LLC at 68 Northrop Street unanimously. The meeting was adjourned unanimously.
Board of Selectmen — July 14
Minutes have not yet been published; the following items were listed on the agenda. The board was scheduled to consider a request to add a yellow center line down the center of Hut Hill Road, discuss tax refunds, and review a Voya 457 Plan document amendment. The agenda also included updates on speeding concerns and short-term rentals. Outcomes are not yet available.

The regular meeting of the Board of Finance scheduled for July 15, 2026 was cancelled.
Coming up
The Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on July 28 and then consider Application #ZBA 26-7-1, submitted by SMF Universal LLC. The application seeks a variance from Section 4.4.2.C of the Zoning Regulation to allow a generator, propane tank, and building overhang within the front setback of the property at 6 Kruskyville Road, Assessor Map 26, Lot 68. The board will review the presentation, correspondence, and public comments as part of its consideration.
