Oceanport boards take up open space purchase, police equipment, and zoning requests
Oceanport's Planning Board and Mayor & Council held meetings in mid-August, but official minutes have not yet been published, so no final decisions are confirmed. The agendas included several items that could affect borough finances, public safety, and property owners.
Planning Board: Willow Court approval, Shore Road denial on agenda
The Planning Board met August 11 at 7:00 PM. The board was scheduled to vote on two resolutions: one approving a project at 26 Willow Court (Resolution PR-26-23 for Celina Eosso-Curti) and one denying a project at 60 Shore Road (Resolution PR-26-24 for Keith Salnick).
The board also planned to hear three applications:
- PB2026-07: a covered porch addition at 164 Comanche Drive, carried from July 14
- PB2026-12: a variance to relocate a shed at 115 Sagamore Avenue
- PB2026-13: a variance for a non-conforming shed at 42 Cayuga Avenue

The Mayor & Council held a regular meeting on August 13. The agenda included first readings of three ordinances:

- Ordinance #1133, an open space purchase on Elkwood Avenue
- Ordinance #1131, amending salary ranges for certain borough officers and employees

- Resolution #2026-224: Authorizing purchase of Tasers from Axon for the Oceanport Police Department

- Rejecting all bids for a toilet building at Blackberry Bay Park
