Laredo ISD board to weigh $2.3M in budget amendments, contracts at Aug. 13 meeting

Special Called Meeting (July 30)

District Operations and School Safety Committee (Aug. 3)

The committee discussed procurement items including janitorial and disposable products (estimated $700,000), kitchen equipment and small kitchenware (estimated $130,000), fencing, sheet metal fabrication, welding and masonry projects (estimated $101,000), and food safety and sanitation products and services (estimated $80,000). Curriculum and Instruction Committee (Aug. 4)

Discussions included preliminary English Learner proficiency results for 2025-2026, an update on new English Language Proficiency Standards, a memorandum of understanding among Laredo ISD, Laredo College, and TAMIU, STAAR performance results, and TIA spending plan updates.

Business and Support Services Committee (Aug. 6)

The committee reviewed budget amendments including a $900,676 increase for the Capital Projects Fund and $405,564 for IT arrangements. It also discussed contracts for janitorial products ($700,000), musical instruments and equipment ($150,000), and kitchen equipment ($130,000), plus renewal of a services agreement with Texas A&M International University Training Center.
