1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chairman Zambrano called the meeting to order at 7:03pm.
2. OPMA STATEMENT: This meeting which conforms with the Open Public Meetings law, Chapter 231,
Public Laws of 1975, is a regular Shade Tree meeting. Notices have been filed and posted in accordance
with provisions of the Law.

4. APRIL, MAY & JUNE 2026 TREE WORK: To be updated in the TreeKeeper program this week. In
April, 3 trees were removed, 2 were trimmed, 25 were planted, and 1 stump was ground. In May, 2 trees
were removed and 7 were trimmed with 0 stumps ground and 0 trees planted. In June, 23 trees were
removed, 24 were trimmed, 0 were planted, and 10 stumps were ground. This leaves a Year-to-Date total
of 32 trees removed, 40 trimmed, 25 trees planted, and 14 stumps ground.
5. CEUs invoice from Liz Stewart: We have fully satisfied our continuing education credits for 2026 with
our instruction from our arborist Liz Stewart. The total cost for training was $375.
6. MEMORIAL TREE FOR SERENITY LYNN: Resident Anouska Lowndes of 15 Nugent Place
appeared before the Committee to discuss planting a tree in memory of Serenity Lynn, a local middle
school student who passed away last year. It was decided to plant the tree as part of our Autumn …

Carol Knubel began by advising that the PEO’s will, as of June 1, 2026 be working under
the Police Department. Carol and Chief Pontillo have been working together to try to
accomplish a smooth transition and a delegation-of duties. So far, all has been working
out well.
Carol Knubel also discussed a list of action items that was collaborated on and could
become recommendations to the Mayor and Council as a starting point for changes
recommended by Desmon and Associates. They are as follows:
