A prayer of intention for everyone’s safekeeping during the 4th of July and a moment of silence was held
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Sue Knight.

a. In attendance for Roll Call were Council Members: Dave Koch, Amy Sharpshair, Blaise Cittadino, Glen
Lovitt, Bob Cox, Sue Knight, and Paul Schmidt. Also in attendance were Mayor Kevin Hardman,
President Paul Culter, Safety Service Director Jim Lukas, Law Director Charles Lippert, Auditor Ed
Cunningham, Treasurer Kurt Irey, and Department Heads: Finance Director Scott McKeehan, Public
Works Director Steve Busam, Director David McCandless, and Police Chief Jim Nesbit.
2. PUBLIC HEARING: 2027 TAX BUDGET
a. A public hearing was held to introduce the 2027 tax budget as required by law. President Culter
called the public hearing to order at 7:04 p.m. Finance Director Scott McKeehan provided an
overview, explaining that the budget, filed with the county auditor, demonstrates the city’s solvency
and ensures compliance with state requirements. If the auditor determined the city was not
financially solvent, a tax millage could be imposed, though this is rare. More detailed budget work
will begin in August. No questions were raised, no public comments were offered. President Culter
closed the public hearing at 7:05 p.m.

City Council approves grant applications and emergency declarations
The Sharonville City Council approved Ordinance 2026-11-E, which authorizes the Safety-Service Director to apply for a BUILD grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, accept any awarded funds, and declare an emergency. The Council also approved Resolution 2026-R-02-E, which supports an application to the Hamilton County Office of Economic Development for Economic Impact Program grant funds and declares an emergency.
