The following minutes are a summary of the Planning Board meeting of August 4, 2026.

Call to Order & Statement of Compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act: Mr. Joel called the
meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.
Roll Call – The following members were present: Rob Willis, John Young, Deputy Mayor Perron, Richard
Joel, David Refkin and Elizabet Timofeeva. Michael Stern, Fran Barto, Jim Van Goor, Reese Campbell and
Sammy Thomas were absent. Also present were Christopher Martin, Esq., Board Attorney, and Jane
Wondergem, Board Secretary.
Public Comments on Topics not Pending Before the Board – There were no comments at this
time.
Committee/Commission/Professional Updates for Non Agenda Topics -
Deputy Mayor Perron provided a Council update.
Mr. Refkin provided a Green Ridgewood update. Mr. Refkin commented on a Green Building
Policy/Resolution requiring developers to submit a green development checklist with site plan
applications. Deputy Mayor Perron suggested that the Village Planner could help create the checklist.

Monello Field work and Schedler Property update to be reviewed
The Ridgewood Fields Working Group will meet on August 4, 2026, to discuss updates on Monello Field work and BOE closures, the Schedler Property update, and field closure notifications. The committee will review the 2026 fall schedule for RHS varsity sports and youth organizations, and receive reports from various sports and community groups. Summer projects including scoreboard installation at Maple Park, RHS tennis court renovation, and skatepark resurfacing will also be discussed. A review of the FIFA World Cup Watch Party is scheduled.

Zoning board to hear six variance applications for home additions, one withdrawn
The Ridgewood Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold public hearings on six variance applications for residential additions, porches, and air conditioning units. One application (Geudtner at 552 Hillcrest Road) has been withdrawn. The board will also discuss a paint color issue and a variance extension request. Council to award $4.7M water main contract, introduce bond ordinance
The council will vote on a consent agenda awarding a $4.7M contract for 2026 distribution main improvements and introducing a water capital bond ordinance for storage tank renovations and corrosion control. Other actions include approving a $500k/year lease for a Glen Avenue water tank, a $464k contract for South Pleasant Avenue resurfacing, and a $456k crossing guard services contract. Call to Order & Statement of Compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act: Mr. Joel called the
meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.
Roll Call – The following members were present: Rob Willis, John Young, Deputy Mayor Perron, Richard
Joel, Michael Stern, Fran Barto, Jim Van Goor, David Refkin, Reese Campbell and Sammy Thomas. Elizabet

El Consejo del Pueblo aprueba una subvención de $10,000 de Keep America Beautiful
El Consejo del Pueblo de Ridgewood adoptará varias resoluciones que autorizan subvenciones y acuerdos.
