Well, we're going to go ahead and get started. Good morning. It's amazing. With all of the rain that the sun is still shining after last night's victory over the dreaded Yankees. I can't I can't be more excited about that this morning. The the pitcher for our team apparently paces in the dugout between innings when he's not pitching. And that's what I was doing. I was pacing, watching the game. Lots of fun. Let's get started with a few things first. Commissioner Peters will be here this morning. Do I have a motion and a second? Second. Okay. Got a motion and a second. All in favor? I didn't even get the motion out of my mouth. But you're able to participate and welcome. So. The second thing is, is that can anybody sing in this room besides Commissioner Flowers? >> You don't want me to? >> No. All right. The attorney will have to do that for us. She'll lead us in singing happy birthday to Commissioner Flowers. Since she. Since she is singing, she is the singer. She can't be the leader of a song for herself. >> You're the CHAIRMAN. >> All right, I'll sing. Oh! Let's go everybody. Happy birthday. >> To you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday. Commissioner flowers. Happy birthday to you, GOD. >> I don't I don't know how that sounded because I was listening to myself and it sounded okay. Good. Thank you, Commissioner Flowers. >> Happy birthday. Today is my birthday. Yeah. >> Thank you. It's always a wonderful day. >> So thank you. >> Happy birthday to you. >> 35 was a rough yea …

Before we begin, I'd like to thank Corporal Thornton, Deputy Winnick and Deputy Manley from the sheriff's office, and we're going to start with a budget discussion. Barry, you are recognized. >> Good morning, commissioners. So today we're going to have our first workshop on budget, really talking about different options and ideas. And there's been, you know, a few changes since we last talked. First, Commissioner Nowicki and Commissioner Shearer offered ideas in terms of ways to adjust the budget. And the main piece really focused around the general fund. And what can we do to reduce down the general fund portion of our budget to provide for property tax rate reduction? That's really been the focus of the discussions. From the comments that I've seen, I've also talked individually with each of you and listen to your thoughts and ideas. And so we have some want some updated numbers that we've kind of fresh off the press are able to incorporate within the budget. And two, we have a few of the budget ideas that we also think that we can incorporate that are reasonable in, in this discussion. So first, staff's going to be passing out a packet here. And as they get those out, then I'll wait till they they deliver those. And so we can kind of use that as a guide. We're missing a couple commissioners. So. And Chris is going to join me up here so he can answer any questions. The other thing I want to acknowledge is you could you may have questions about anything throughout county gov …

Welcome to our AUGUST 20th workshop. We've got a few items, but more discussion than there are items for sure. So we'll go ahead and get started with our new campus update. We have e-bikes report and the budget discussion and then agenda briefing. So we'll start with the new campus update. Barry. Okay. Good morning commissioners. You guys can start heading on up. So I'm going to introduce our hockey team and specifically Jonathan Ray. That's going to kick this off. You know, we had a conversation back, you know, several months ago. We got a lot of feedback from both. You also took this to the appointing authorities and constitutional officers to get their feedback. And so they've tried to come up with some design ideas. And so what they're looking for is more feedback. So where we can continue to narrow this down as we kind of shape the outside envelope, then they can finalize the details on what goes inside and how those layouts occur. And that changes based upon the design that you select. So for today, they're going to go over some different ideas. If want to get your feedback and I'll share with you kind of the appointing authority's thoughts for your consideration as we continue to try to get to a final design. Sounds good. The new campus. >> And before we get started, I saw one of the deputies letting you in. So I want to recognize the deputies now because if I don't, I'll end up forgetting. I know getting the kids back to school and giving themselves a little freedom, but it's good to have everybody here who is here this morning, and we'll get started with a invocation from Commissioner Nowicki. And then the pledge from Commissioner Peters. >> Heavenly father, thank you for the blessings you have given us and for the opportunity to serve others. Grant us wisdom in our decisions, patience, and our disagreements and courage to always do what is right. Guide our words and actions today. Protect our community. Help us remember that leadership is a responsibility entrusted to us for the good of others. And MAY we always bring you honor in what you do to serve others who have placed their trust in us. In your name we pray. Amen. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay. All right. Just have a couple of comments. First, I wanted to thank Corporal Clyde Thornton, deputy Mike Winnecke, Deputy Kevin McSweeney, Deputy Jeff Atkinson for being here today. They're always here to take care of our residents and take care of all of us. Thank you again. We also ha …

Personal. Me alegra ver a todos aquí también. Vamos a comenzar.

Segundo. ¿Lo captaron? ¿Todos a favor? A favor. ¿Alguno en contra? De acuerdo. La moción se aprueba por unanimidad. Así que ellos están allí arriba. Lo están. Ambos se han registrado. Bienvenidos.

Vamos a comenzar. Primero que nada, buenos días. Bienvenidos. Y, Padre, nos has dado mucho.

We're going to go ahead and get started. Staff, just bring your conversations down. Thank you. I know we don't always get a chance to get together so we play catch up. But it's good to have everybody here this morning. Want to welcome the Phillies organization who are here today. Good to have you in the room. I know we'll be having a ten minute presentation. If there are specific questions from the board on the presentation, they can ask Brian at that point. And then we'll we'll kind of go into some open discussion, and any questions about things from that point will be towards towards staff. So without further ado, we've got a really busy schedule today. Really important exciting topics to to discuss and I look forward to that. Exchange of thoughts and ideas today. With that said, Brian Angst JR. Come on up and. Good to hear from you this morning. Welcome. >> Thank you, MR. CHAIRMAN. It's a it's a great honor and privilege to be here today. Representing the Philadelphia Phillies, who have been intrinsically intertwined in the fabric of our community for nearly 80 years. As you all know well, the Phillies have the second longest spring training relationship with the city of Clearwater in Major League Baseball history. We're only one year behind Lakeland in the Detroit Tigers. So we're doing pretty good in terms of being a trendsetter and and leading the charge for local commitment to spring training. And that really that sister city sister community relationship with the City …
