So it's broadening our understanding of the management responsibilities that we have in conservation lands and resources. There's far more expertise out there than just the science that we understand from a westernized approach. And it's really identifying that broader understanding of how indigenous peoples have managed to thrive on this landscape for over 12 millennia, combating some of the same challenges we're fighting today. So, for example, in recreation, we look at understanding trails and especially our social trail system as providing a benefit to visitors of the park to engage in see different things. But we also MAY be unintentionally leading people through very sensitive landscapes that have no material culture. We need to understand what that meaning is in order to incorporate it into our planning, without necessarily divulging what makes those spiritually important as defined by tribes. So it's that kind of balancing act that goes into it. So recognizing the benefits to your department's operations, have we talked as an administrative team about how this new policy might have benefits to the operations of of other County departments? So Chair Allen and Supervisor Scott, a recent example, Chair Allen just forwarded an item that she's been copied on with our Valencia Road widening project that the Department of Transportation is advancing. And so that has result …

And it is, I think, relevant for our board. We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails. So we will be doing some sail adjusting as we move through our agenda today. So with that, I will pass it to the clerk for roll call. Supervisor Connell. Present supervisor Christy here. Supervisor Haynes. Supervisor Scott here. Chair Allen here. Let the record show. Supervisor Haynes is not present. All other board members are present. Next on our agenda is the Pledge of Allegiance. And I would like to invite Sonja Felix, administrative specialist one Fleet Services, to lead us in the pledge. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And, Sonja, is there anything going on in Fleet Services that you'd like to tell us about? Right now, our biggest project is transferring our fleet administration management to asset work. So everybody's busy with that, right? Yeah. All right. Well, good luck with that. Thank you. Thank you. Next, I would like to invite up Robert Ojeda, the ceo of the Pima Council on Aging, to lead us in the land. Acknowledgment. On behalf of Pima County residents. Approaching difficult situations with patience and professionalism. Transferring mistakes into opportunities for growth. Jennifer, thank you for all you do. Thank you. And you hired her, right. So that's like Gail's like excited. All right Devin you're next. Devin Robles from our library. Your system. All right libraries bringing it today guys. Come on. Devin always keeps both library staff and library customers in mind. When the library's largest book vendor went out of business, Devin was on hand to support the technical services team and taking on new processes to get books and other materials into the hands of patrons. By working closely with the counties, its deployment team, Devin's Group, was able to successfully process more than 27,000 items in the span of five months, and Devin's just a smiley face every time I see him. He's just a wonderful guy. Devin, thank you for everything you do. Appreciate you. Thank you. All right. Good following suit. Nicole. Nicole Kasebier is with our regional Flood Control District department. So in addition to being a gem, Nicole gets the award for the best last name k spear like that. So she's probably been hearing that all her life. I, I suspect, but Nicole is a landscape architect with our regional flood control district, and she gets to design and construct storm water parks. And so that's taking areas that have urban drainage and building improvements, right, to capture water, alleviate flooding, but also provide an amenity in the …

Chair. Allen. Supervisor. Kino. Thank you to the director for the update and I wanted to, of course, celebrate the fact that over 186,000 Pima County residents utilized their right to vote in the JULY 21st primary elections, about a 28.9% turnout. As we prepare for the NOVEMBER election, I want to extend a huge thanks to all of our election workers, especially those who were there with the 20,000 or so of our neighbors that voted in person on the day of the election. This takes lots of work and lots of commitment, lots of due diligence, and I have nothing but full confidence in all of our elections and reporters team for doing their due diligence to ensure that we have a safe and secure election. And that is indeed what we had on JULY 21st. Without hearing any further comments, I'd like to motion to approve the canvas of JULY 21st. Discussion, MADAM Chair. Supervisor Christy. Yes. Thank you. It's timely for the elections director's comments, because what I'd just like to state at this point is that due to the limited format of today's special meeting, we'd like to request an after action report from both the elections director and the County recorder's office, outlining opportunities for improvements and any lessons learned during the primary ahead of the upcoming general election. We look forward to discussing such subjects. At the AUGUST 25th Regular Board of Supervisors meeting, and we will be placing an agenda item regarding such. On the AUGUST 25th agenda. If our office …

Y regresaremos a las 5:00. Hola. Buenos. Buenos. ¿Qué hora es? Buenas tardes.
