1. Consider and take appropriate action on Planning Workshop for future Civic Campus
Matthew Giese, the City's Civic Campus Consultant, led the City Council through a workshop
discussing design ideas, land uses, landscaping and the design process.
The Council agrees the design firm will develop a vision for both Patterson Park and the newly
purchased land of the Economic Development Corporation for a total of 77 acres.
The discussion also included that the area should be highly walkable where outside visitors
park when they arrive, stay the weekend, and are able to walk to everything they need within
Wolfforth and that the space should honor the past as it embraces the future of Wolfforth. An
anchor hotel was discussed at length and would be highly desirable due to the ease of access to
downtown Lubbock, to Tech Campus and to the medical district.
