Council to consider forming two community facilities districts and related bond measures

✓ Decidido: Council approves solid waste rate increases despite councilmember opposition

The City Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-83, approving maximum allowable rate increases for solid waste collection services provided by Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc., effective July 1, 2026. The vote was 3-1, with Council Member Carmona opposed. The council also voted to bring back a resolution terminating the Burrtec Solid Waste Franchise Agreement. It also unanimously adopted Resolution PC‑0007, approving Conditional Use Permit CUP 24013 for an 85,570‑sq‑ft bus‑manufacturing facility at 5467 28th Street, finding the project exempt under CEQA.
