There are a number of prospective officers that will be hired temporary, provisionally, so that they may attend the Orange County Police Academy - given the time (date) for the Rockland County Police Academy and the very many retirements that Clarkstown has. The Orange County Academy starts Monday, April 13, 2026. Our candidates have been fully vetted and will be hired beforehand and approved by Rockland County. There is also a resignation by retirement effective April 24, 2026 of our current Police Chief Jeff Wanamaker. Chief Wanamaker has served in law enforcement for nearly 40 years. He is a third generation Police Chief in his family. His father was a Police Chief in the Town of Orangetown and his Grandfather was the Constable in Upper Nyack many years ago. There were no revisions or edits made to the meeting agenda. There was no public comment. The minutes of the November 14, 2025 meeting were formally adopted upon a motion by Rev. Bruce Woodcock, seconded by Fr. Bill Cosgrove, with all in favor. Rev. Rhonda Hoehn reported that she delivered the Report of the Ethics Board to the Town Board at its meeting on December 18, 2025. Town Board adopts zoning map amendment to rezone two parcels on E. Route 59

The Board will adopt a local law amending the zoning map to change parcels at 425 and 431 E. Route 59 in Nanuet from Light Industrial Office to Regional Shopping. It will also adopt a local law revising the town’s Solar Power Code. In addition, the Board will consider financing resolutions for First Street paving, the Jeffrey Court Flood Amelioration Project, and a pavilion at Germonds Park, along with other contracts, appointments and retirements.

The Board adopted Resolution 145-2026, amending the zoning map and authorizing a zone change to RS for parcels at 425 and 431 E. Route 59 in Nanuet. The motion passed unanimously. The Board also adopted Resolution 146-2026 to correct terminology in the solar ordinance, and unanimously accepted the February 24, 2026 meeting minutes.

Maloney Auditorium March 10, 2026 at 6:30 PM MINUTES PRESENT: Supervisor George Hoehmann Councilman Jon Valentino Councilman Michael Graziano Councilman Donald Franchino Councilman Robert Axelrod Town Clerk Lauren Wohl ABSENT: The Supervisor George Hoehmann declared the Town Board meeting opened. Assemblage saluted the flag. The Town Clerk read the roll call. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS ~ Carly Voce, Captain, Clarkstown South Varsity Girls Basketball Team (1,000+ Career Points) A Special Presentation was awarded to Carly Voce. She is a Senior, Captain of the Clarkstown South Girls Varsity Basketball Team. She is a dedicated leader on and off the basketball court. Carly has scored over 1,200 points during her basketball career at Clarkstown South. She is ranked #25 among all-time leading scorers of all time in Rockland County. She will attend Lafayette College in the Fall. She will be playing Division 1 Basketball for them in the Patriot League. This is a testimony to her hard work. ~ NYS Public High School Athletic Association Bowling Championship Special Presentations were awarded to Bowling Teams in the Town of Clarkstown. Two teams were recognized with one individual who qualified and are moving on to the NYS Bowling Championship in Syracuse, New York.
