Today is Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, times 930 a.m., and I call this meeting of the Dallas City Council to order. Our invocation this morning will be given by none other than the esteemed chaplain of the Dallas Police Department, and he's one of our chaplains, and he's also the senior minister at the Community Church of Christ. He's none other than Minister J.K. Hamilton. Where is Brother Hamilton? He's already here. All right, so we're going to have our invocation and then our Pledge of Allegiance. Brother Hamilton, the floor is yours. Dear God in heaven, we thank you so much for this day. We thank you for saying yes this morning when we woke up and just allowing us to see a day we've never seen before. And now, Lord, since we know you hold this city in your hand, we ask that you would bless this city, bless our mayor, our city council, and the decisions that they make.
