City Council Appeal Hearing
Council to hear appeal of denied variance for screened porch at 7188 Charleton Ct.
The Canal Winchester City Council will hold an appeal hearing on the Planning and Zoning Commission's denial of Variance #VA-26-015, which would allow Megan and Terrence Bell to build a screened-in porch encroaching into the required 30-foot rear yard setback at 7188 Charleton Ct. The Council will hear testimony from staff, the appellants, and any aggrieved parties, then deliberate and vote on whether to uphold or overturn the denial.
- Appeal of Planning and Zoning Commission denial of Variance #VA-26-015 for 7188 Charleton Ct.
- Proposed screened-in porch: 14 ft deep by 12.8 ft wide, encroaching 6-7 ft into required 30-ft rear yard setback.
- Property zoned PUD, subject to Ord. No. 59-90 and 1990 Zoning Code Chapter 80.27.04(7).
- Staff recommends denial; applicant argues similar porches exist nearby and requests 24.4 ft setback.
- Council may deliberate in open or closed session before voting.
