City Council
The City Council will take final action on a proposed 0.4875% municipal gross receipts tax that would go before voters at the next general election as the 'Community Enhancement and Local Investment Tax.' They will also consider ordinances authorizing up to $65.5 million in industrial revenue bonds for two hotel projects and the formation of the Savio Ridge Public Improvement District.

Council approved a $40.5M taxable industrial revenue bond for the Dreamcatcher Sawmill Hotel project (6-3) and a separate $25M bond for a Dreamcatcher Journal Center Hotel (9-0). They also approved a LEDA project for Eden Pharmaceuticals expansion and several grants and appointments. Two charter amendment proposals were postponed to August 3.

The committee will consider a $2.8 million agreement with Homewise to administer a homeowner rehabilitation program using Housing and Neighborhood Economic Development Funds. Several ordinances are on the agenda, including expanding the catalytic converter ordinance to cover copper/brass materials, creating a consolidated accountability ordinance, and amending the whistleblower ordinance.
