Dr. Monic Ilse, Deputy Superintendent, opened the workshop by s tating that the first topic would focus on reviewing the proposed changes to the Student Code of Conduct. Presenting the information were Melissa Musselwhite, Director of Student Support Programs and Services, and Robin Hawk, Supervisor. Additionally, Mike Rogers, Discipline Coordinator, who has played an integral role in the development of the proposed revisions, was also in attendance.

He noted that, unlike previous K–8 conversions that were primarily driven by financial considerations and usage of facilities, this proposal is driven by academic priorities. Superintendent Legg emphasized that the proposal is not intended as a cost-saving measure, although any resulting efficiencies could be reinvested in students and academics. NEOLA Update 26.1 and Other District Updates
Kevin Shibley, Chief of Staff, reviewed NEOLA Update 26.1 and Other District Updates before the policies are submitted for board approval. Edits were suggested to the following policies: 0100, 0169.1, 2410, 2461, 3130, 5136, 5410.01, 5500, 7540.02, 7544, 8330, and 8800. The changes will be reflected in the policies submitted for the public hearing on February 3, 2026.
Board members and staff had discussion, shared comments, and provided feedback throughout the presentation.

1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Colleen Beaudoin, with the welcome and reading of the vision statement.
Vice Chairman Hernandez shared the thought for the day, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Present were Chairman Colleen Beaudoin, Vice Chairman Al Hernandez, and board members Jessica Wright, Megan Harding, and Cynthia Armstrong. Also present were Dr. John Legg, Superintendent and ex officio Secretary to the Board, and Paul Meeker, Attorney for the Board.
The chairman asked for a moment of silence for the families of Hannah Denson, student at Deer Park Elementary School; Lukus Gelb, student at Hudson High School; Linda Touchton Sayer, Guidance Secretary at River Ridge High School; and Claudia Steinacher, former principal of Oakstead Elementary School.
