TYPE E NOTICE - VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may submit a
request to vote an absentee ballot to the ir municipal clerk . A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will
be 18 years of age or older on Election Day , who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she
wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in
order to receiv e an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may
be issued .

The Plan Commission for the City of Amery met on Thursday – July 23 , 2026 , at City Hall .
Rick Van Blaricom ; called the meeting to order at 9 :0 0 a .m.
Present: Members – Rick Van Blaricom , Eric Elkin, Paul Isakson , Brianna White , Scott Carlson , Paul Shafer,
and Pat Cahill.

Motion by Isakson ; seconded by Cahill to approve the agenda.

1. Discussion/Recommendation of Rezoning Request for 201-00776-2000 - 1101 Cornwall Ave,
Amery, WI 54001 to change from C-2: Central Business to I-1: Light Industrial – Clerk-
Treasurer /Zoning Administrator Larson presented a rezoning request for SMK Holdings. Currently
there is a car dealership operating on the property as a non-conforming use. The owner would like to
expand, which means the property must comply with the zoning code. Changing the property to I-1
would allow the current use to be permitted and there are other I-1 properties in the area .
Motion by Cahill ; seconded by Carlson to recommend to Council approving the rezoning request for 201-

and place. Should subsequent visits be necessary they shall be the following day. Any qualified elector
who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an
absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any US citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election
Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28
consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an
absentee ballot.
Only observers from each of the two recognized political parties whose candidates for governor or

committee is in favor of adopting an ordinance to allow both of these modes of transportation on
Amery ’s streets where allowed by state law. The committee felt the city should license golf carts since
they are not licensed by the state , and the licensing period should be 5 years with stickers as proof of
license. The committee also felt there should be some form of insurance requirement and
lighting/ slow moving vehicle indication . The vehicles would not be allowed to travel at night. Golf carts
that cross County Rd F at the designated golf course crossing would not need to be licensed.

Notice that the Assessment Roll is Open for Examination and Open Book
STATE OF WISCONSIN
City of Amery, Polk County Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 70.45, the assessment roll for the Year 202 6
assessment will be open for examination starting on the 5 th day of May 202 6 at 7:00a.m., until 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Thursday.
Additionally, the assessor shall be available via phone at 715-835-1141 from 10 :00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on
May 13 th , 202 6 . Instructional material will be provided at the open book to persons who wish to object to
valuations under Wis. Stat. § 70.47.
The Open Book session provides property owners with the opportunity to informally discuss their
assessments with the City Assessor.

1. Call Board of Review (BOR) to order & Meeting Recording Announcement.
2. Roll Call - Confirmation of appropriate Board of Review and Open Meeting notices.
3. Select a Chairperson for Board of Review.
4. Select a Vice-Chairperson for Board of Review.
5. Verify that a t least one member has met the mandatory training requirements.
6. Verify that the City has an ordinance for the confidentiality of income and expense information provided to the
assessor under state law (sec. 70.47( 7)( af ).
