Thank you. and smoke becomes greater. There's been little enforcement of the rules that go on for the sports complex. No one's supposed to have music when they have barbecues and almost every party that goes on there they have loud music and the management's not paying any attention to that. Same on the basketball court when the kids are playing a lot of them play loud music and there's not supposed to be any music at all. So I think enforcement of management policy, they need someone to monitor that area. I think the lights need to come down like sunset or you know 8:00 p.m. or something is just way too bright. It's very difficult to sleep when you have all these bright lights shining into the unit. So I hope you'll take that into consideration. Thank you. Thank you. Next speaker please. Next speaker is Vincent Cardillo. Vincent, you're allowed to talk. Thanks. Can you hear me? Yes. Okay. So similarly I'm not here to oppose the housing. I'm here because the resolution in front of you asks that you find that this plan development is quote you know operationally harmonious with the neighborhood and quote will not adversely affect other properties in the vicinity. And so my argument is that on the current record you can't really make those findings. The same plan to development has an open notice of violation which is case x 26-0282 for the sports court floodlights that were installed without a permit and that was cited under the dark skies ordinance. The city gave the owner 30 …

Thank you. All right. Thank you. We will begin with you. Thank you. today. Incorporated, First Congressional Church of Alameda, South Shore Center, and Island High that all have four-day vote centers. So those will be open the 31st of October through November 2nd from 9 to 5 and then 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. And then the really thing that the Registrar Office is pushing this year is something they're calling the Ballot Drop Stop Tour. And they have these listed on their website, and it's a mouthful, Ballot Drop Stop Tour. But they say this way, you can really just put your ballot directly in the hand of an election worker. So you know it hasn't gone in a box. I mean the vote centers are the same, but they're really trying to get around the county in as many places as possible and spend a lot of time out there with these election workers right there ready to accept your ballots. And those are all listed on their web page, and they're still adding some, and they might add some in front of City Hall on the election day, which we hope. So lots of ways to do it, and the earlier you do it, the better. And Madam Clerk, will that information about the different voting centers, will that be on our city's website? Yes. If you Google, just go to the city's page and put in elections, it's on the city's election page, and there's links to all of them. And then it's also on the Alameda County Registrar of Voters website too. Thank you. And then also on the screen behind us is a nu …

Thank you. begins the conversation, but it only provides isolated observations. The work is to turn those into an accessible path of travel through coordinated design and construction. Full compliance removes a barrier, usually permanently, but can be expensive or impractical in some existing conditions. An alternate solution can provide equivalent access another way, but it may rely on operational procedures. The main part is that it has to still satisfy the same accessibility requirements. So some challenges that we see as we try to take these observations from paper to construction are buildings are interconnected . So some connections are easy to see. A threshold connects to a walkway, connects to a landing, connects to a ramp. Others are discovered during construction. So one change, like moving a wall, can affect multiple building systems like a structural wall, mechanical items that are attached to it, plumbing items, life safety. And then the other challenge is that making one change can cause the necessity to make other changes in a chain reaction. So the example here is a door on the left has a maneuvering clearance that's insufficient. The changes that we need to make are to move the wall and modify framing. But the engineering impacts include, as you can see on the right side, the room next door, which has additional plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, and just in general, it affects that wall of the room next door. So our design informed result at Mastic at th …

Thank you. Before we begin on the formal agenda items, we'll do the P ledge of Allegiance. Board Member Lee, would you like to lead us? Happy to. Thank you so much. And with that, we'll go ahead and do roll call. Roll call. Board Member Wang? Here. Board Member Su? Here. Board Member Hom? Here. Board Member Lee? President Cisneros? And Board Members Ruiz and Freed are absent. Okay. We have a quorum. Great. Thank you. And before we move on to the next agenda items, I did want to just remind the public about rules of meeting conduct. This is formal city business. So let's all please be respectful when others are doing their public speaking. Some folks are speaking for the first time and also we want to be mindful about those watching at home, which could be children. And so let's just create the safe space for all. And otherwise there are some, it could escalate to some penal code violations. And so again, let's create these conditions for tonight's meeting business. So with that, I just wanted to share that. Before we move on to number two, which is agenda changes. Does staff or any board members have any requests? I was going to suggest maybe we just, maybe we do a couple quick announcements and introductions perhaps. We have one of our two new board members here tonight. Maybe Board Member Lee would like to introduce himself. Yeah, happy to. Yeah, I moved to Alameda about four or five years ago and I come from a background with some experience in economic development, housin …

Okay, good evening and welcome to the October 8th, 2026 Alameda Recreation and Park Commission meeting. Could we have a roll call, please? Commissioner Sorensen? Here. Commissioner Bell? Here. Commissioner Birney? Here. Vice Chair Swartz? Chair Aedes? Thank you. The first item on our agenda is non-agenda public comment. Members of the public may speak for three minutes regarding any matter not on the agenda. Commissioners will not respond to comments or answer questions. The city welcomes speakers providing public comment, but please be advised that this is a limited public forum. As such, speakers must stay on topic if speaking to a particular agenda item, and if speaking during non-agenda public comment, they must address matters within the subject matter jurisdiction of the city. If speakers fail to follow these rules, they'll be warned, and if they continue to disregard the rules, their opportunity to speak will be ended. Do we have any non-agenda public speakers tonight? No speakers online or in person. Oh, pardon me. Just one. And that is Speaker Mark Klein. Take your time. Thank you. Thank you, Commissioners. Sorry, I'm catching my breath as well. I just wanted to continue to advocate for the future of fields within Alameda. As I think you all know, there is a shortage of fields for youth sports. That is projected only to get worse over time as fields are reallocated towards housing, as well as fields that may be affected by sea level rise as well. So I just wanted to …

[ Silence ] Yes, they're right. [ Silence ] Oh, all right. This is the one-minute warning, maybe less than one minute. It's so funny. At the Alameda County Transportation Commission, we're not supposed to touch the microphones. They have signs. And so I always get a little -- because they're really sensitive, I guess. And so I always get a little anxious when I reach for the microphone. But it's okay. We're all here. All right. So, Ryan, are we ready in the balcony? Thumbs up in the balcony? All right. As we say, when the balcony is ready, we're all ready. Good evening, everyone. And welcome to the City Council meeting. This is the Alameda City Council -- City of Alameda City Council meeting for Tuesday, September 15, 2026. And we are about to go into our closed session. But before we do, I would like to ask the City Clerk, Lara Weissiger, to please call the roll. Council Member Spohler. Here. Daystatt. Here. Jensen. Prior. Here. Mayor, is the aftcraft? Five present. Thank you. And so next we will go to public comment. Just on this single closed session item, Madam Clerk, do we have any public comment? There's none. All right. We will close public comment. And we are about to adjourn into closed session to consider this individual item that I will ask the City Clerk to please introduce. Thank you. Welcome to the September 10, 2026 Alameda Recreation and Park Commission meeting. It is wonderful to be back together again after our recess and to be welcoming fresh ideas and perspectives this evening. Could we begin with a roll call, excuse me, a roll call, please? Commissioner Sorensen? Here. Commissioner Bell? Here. Commissioner Burney? Here. Vice Chair Swartz? Chair Radies? Present. Thank you. The first item on our agenda is non-agenda public comment. The city welcomes speakers providing public comment, but please be advised that this is a limited public forum, and as such, speakers must stay on topic if speaking to a particular agenda item, and if speaking during non-agenda public comment, they must address matters within the subject matter jurisdiction of the city. If speakers fail to follow these rules, they'll be warned, and if they continue to disregard the rules, their opportunity to speak will be ended. Do we have any non-agenda public speakers tonight? We have two speakers in person. The first speaker is Adrian Alexander. Welcome, Speaker Alexander. Thank you. Good evening. My name is Adrian Alexander, and it's kind of odd to be on this side of the podium today. I came tonight to welcome our two new commissioners and to thank you for volunteering to keep our parks in great shape and take good c …

It is Monday, August 24, 2026, exactly 7:00 PM. And we are beginning tonight's planning board meeting. Before we officially begin our business, let's start with the Pledge of Allegiance. Board Member Wang, can you lead us? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you so much. Not this evening. Okay. Great. Any non-agenda public comments? Anyone can speak for up to three minutes on an item that's not on tonight's agenda. Do we have any speakers? I don't have any speaker slips for non-agenda and I see no hands raised online for no …
