Wright County Board

The Board is discussing the 10-year extension of the Local Option Sales Tax and managing American Rescue Plan Act fund reimbursements. The meeting includes approvals for highway projects and regional park management updates.

The Planning Commission will hold public hearings on five petitions regarding conditional use permits and rezoning. The body will also handle organizational items including the election of a Chair and Vice-Chair for 2022.

The Commission recommended approval of a 91.52-acre rezoning to the County Board, approved a conditional use permit renewal for a hot-mix plant, and renewed a mining permit for Rolling Hills Landfill. A conditional use permit for a contractor's yard was continued to the February meeting pending township review.

The Wright County Board approved Ordinance Amendments 21-5 and 21-5A, which regulate solar energy farms and systems. The amendments include a one-mile setback for solar farms under 1.49 megawatts and a requirement to disclose materials used in solar panel construction. The board also approved a $1.4 million payment to the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust for insurance renewals and elected to use a $10 million standard allowance for revenue loss under the American Rescue Plan Act.

The Wright County Board of Adjustment is meeting to organize its 2022 leadership and calendar. The board will consider three new requests regarding property variances and a lot line adjustment.

It also approved a variance for Alice Coudron to transfer a land entitlement to a 15-acre parcel, with conditions on animal units and foundation removal.
