Planning Commission

The Cache County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on three rezoning requests and two conditional use permits. The largest item is a request to rezone 286.91 acres near Richmond from Agricultural to Industrial with a Mineral Extraction overlay. Other items include a 30.62-acre rezone in Wellsville and an 18.71-acre rezone near Wellsville, plus a minor extraction CUP on Canyon Road.

Cache Open Space Advisory Committee (COSAC)

The Cache Open Space Advisory Committee will hold a regular meeting to discuss two preliminary land conservation applications: the Seth Alder Farm riparian area next to Blacksmith Fork River and a trails application near Hyde Park City and Smithfield City. The committee will also consider approval of meeting minutes from January 6, 2025, and the meeting schedule for the remainder of the year. A discussion on Cache Valley Gateway parcel maps and tables is also scheduled.

Council of Government (CCCOG)

The Cache County Council of Government will meet to discuss the Main Street Underpass Project and changes to the Local Transportation Fund Program Manual. The body will also hold a discussion regarding the County Approved Sales Tax.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission will review a request for a temporary extraction and excavation facility and a subdivision boundary amendment. A previously scheduled public hearing regarding an ordinance change for enforcement and fees has been cancelled.

Fire District Board

The Cache County Fire District Board is announcing 4 board vacancies and seeking applicants who are currently elected mayors of towns or cities within the district (excluding Logan City). Two appointments will come from north of Hwy 30 and two from south of Hwy 30. A public hearing will be held on February 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Cache County Historic Courthouse. Applications are due by February 8, 2025 at 5:00 pm.

Library Board

The Cache County Library Board will convene on January 8, 2025, to approve the 2025 meeting schedule, receive the library director's financial and activity reports, and discuss updates to the Internet use and collection policies. The board will also hear an update on the interlocal agreement with Cache County, River Heights, and Providence, and set goals for the current building. A conflict of interest disclosure for board member Jeris Kendall is on the agenda.

Airport Authority Board

The Logan-Cache Airport Authority Board will elect a chair and vice chair, and consider appointing the Logan City and Cache County Economic Development Directors as ex officio board members. They will also discuss a land lease review, a master plan update, and 2025 capital projects. A closed meeting is scheduled to discuss the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property.
