Budget Workshop FY 2021

The Mayor and City Council are meeting to review operating budgets for the General Fund and the Water and Sewer Fund. The body will also review the Capital Budget and discuss the tax rate for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.

The Mayor and City Council held a budget workshop to review the FY 2020-2021 General Fund, Water and Sewer Fund, and Capital budgets, as well as the tax rate and constant yield tax rate. City Treasurer Avallone and Acting City Manager Wieprecht presented the information and answered questions. No formal decisions were made; the only action was adjourning the meeting.

Council Meeting

The Mayor and City Council will consider a budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 and a water allocation resolution for February 2020. The body will also discuss a one-year trial for parking passes and the declaration of surplus property for the Westview Drive road bed.

The Taneytown City Council approved several routine items, including a budget amendment, water allocation resolution, monthly financial report, accounts payables, and a contract for Bollinger Park engineering. They also authorized public notice for declaring the original road bed of Westview Drive as surplus property and approved a one-year trial of parking passes starting April 1, 2020. All votes were unanimous (5-0) except for the minutes approval, which was 4-0 with one abstention.
