The Alpena City Council directed the City Attorney to draft an ordinance removing the cap on medical marijuana provisioning centers from two to unlimited, passing 3-2. The council also approved a recycling grant agreement, awarded a contract for Water Recycling Plant exterior lights to Omega Electric for $6,994, and approved the consent agenda including bills and appointments. A closed session was held to discuss litigation with Alpena Prototype Biorefinery, LLC, American Process, Inc., and GranBio, LLC.

CIP Special Meeting

The Municipal Council and the City of Alpena Planning Commission are holding a joint special meeting. The body will discuss the 2022-2027 Draft Capital Improvement Plan.

The Municipal Council and Planning Commission met to hear department heads present the 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan. After presentations and questions, the council voted 4-0 to approve the plan as presented. The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.

Alpena City Council

The City Council will consider a Brownfield Plan Amendment for the 600 Walnut Redevelopment after the MEDC denied state tax approval for non-environmental activities. The council is also reviewing several water plant maintenance and abatement bids.

Alpena City Council
