Human Relations Commission

This is a routine procedural meeting of the Orange County Human Relations Commission. The commission will approve prior minutes, welcome a new member, receive county updates, and discuss an annual retreat. Subcommittees will report on membership applications, outreach, and community events.

Historic Preservation Commission

Advisory Board on Aging

The Orange County Advisory Board on Aging held its final 2024 meeting, approving the November 12, 2024 minutes as written. The board received staff updates on personnel changes, including the departure of the Outreach Coordinator and Employment Services staff, and discussed future planning for those positions. Discussions also covered a meeting with the Town of Mebane about expanding services for older adults, and reports from workgroups on the 2022-27 Master Aging Plan. Commission for the Environment

The Commission for the Environment will discuss and vote on the final draft of the BOCC Report and Work Plan. Members will also determine the baseline for the 2025 State of the Environment Report and hold sub-committee breakout sessions to set yearly goals.

Planning Board

The Orange County Planning Board will receive a progress update from Clarion Associates regarding the Land Use Plan 2050 project. The board will also review and approve an annual input form for the Board of County Commissioners.

Human Relations Commission

Orange Unified Transportation Board

The Orange Unified Transportation Board will provide comments on the county's initial Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan for unincorporated areas, approve the 2024 Annual Report and 2025 Work Plan, and elect officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary). The board will also hear staff updates on regional transportation activities and approve prior meeting minutes.

Advisory Board on Aging

Agricultural Preservation Board

Commission for the Environment

Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission is meeting for discussions only, with no decisions on the agenda. They will discuss proposed revisions to the landmark evaluation form and test it on the Harris House. They will also consider a proposal for a memorial marker for a burial ground for the enslaved at Blackwood Farm, and receive a staff presentation on the Old Courthouse Preservation Project architect selection process. Board of Elections

2024 School Bond Education Committee

Board of Elections

The Board of Elections met to review and approve absentee ballots, adopt a new Absentee Meeting Conduct Policy, and modify early voting buffer zone rules to allow only service animals in campaigning areas. Orange Unified Transportation Board

The Orange County Agricultural Preservation Board met on Sept. 18, 2024, but lacked a quorum, so no formal motions or votes were taken.
