Moreland Hills public meetings in 2024

Village Council

The Village Council will hold a special meeting to vote on three ordinances. Two relate to fiscal year 2025 appropriations: an additional appropriation/transfer ordinance and the permanent appropriations for 2025. A third ordinance authorizes the mayor to enter a one-year subscription agreement with Citizenserve for the building department. All ordinances are declared emergencies.

DEIB Commission

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Commission is meeting to finalize its annual report and review the commission's work from 2024.

Village Council

Planning Commission

DEIB Commission

The Diversity & Inclusion Commission is meeting to approve January minutes, address follow-up questions from its annual report, and map out a calendar of events and activities for 2024 to fulfill its duties. The agenda is largely procedural and planning-focused.

Village Council

The Village Council will consider ordinances regarding liability insurance and a community energy grant. The meeting also includes a proposal for additional budget appropriations.

Road & Safety Committee

The Moreland Hills Road & Safety Committee will discuss police department updates, including increased traffic enforcement on Bentleyville and Chagrin River Roads due to a nearby project, background checks for new candidates, and the replacement of a patrol vehicle. The committee will also review the 2024 asphalt program and service department updates on equipment, drainage, snowplowing, and roadside pruning.

The board will also approve minutes from its December 2023 meeting.

Green Commission

The Moreland Hills Green Commission is meeting to approve minutes, introduce new members, and elect 2024 officers (chair and secretary). The agenda includes updates from the mayor on the Green Commission ordinance and potential new members, plus planning for the May 18 Greening of the Hills event and a discussion on simplifying the village recycling strategy.
