Community Redevelopment Agency Meeting (CRA)

City Commission Meeting

The City Commission will review a request for a self-service storage facility in the General Commercial zoning district. The agenda also includes appointments to several city boards and an ordinance to rename the Parks and Leisure Services department.

The Lauderhill City Commission voted 4-1 to table Resolution 21R-02-38, which would have granted a special exception for a self-storage facility expansion at 8560 W. Commercial Blvd., until the Urban Land Institute study is completed and results are provided to the City. The commission also approved several resolutions, including appointments to boards and reaffirming use restrictions on the Inverrary golf courses. All other agenda items were approved on the consent agenda.

The Lauderhill City Commission will hold a limited agenda retreat to discuss general city business with administrators. City Commission Meeting

The Lauderhill City Commission approved a $250,000 stormwater management and flood protection master plan study with BCC Engineering, along with a $205,000 budget adjustment to fund it. The commission also approved several ordinances and resolutions, including zoning text amendments for live-work units and irrigation restrictions, and a resolution requesting the governor to prioritize teachers for COVID-19 vaccination. All votes were unanimous except for two resolutions approving waivers of competitive bidding, which passed 4-1 with Commissioner Dunn dissenting.
