City Council

The Lake City City Council held its regular meeting on January 14, 2025, swearing in newly elected and re-elected members. Council Member DeWonica Cooper was elected Mayor Pro Tem with four votes. The council approved Resolution 2025.001, the monthly bills (6-1), and a resolution empowering the mayor and vice mayor to negotiate a settlement of a former employee's grievance claim (6-1).

City Council

The Lake City City Council will vote for a mayor pro tempore among its members and consider final reading of a resolution to reappoint Warren Carter and Frank Burgess to the Planning Commission. After public comment, the council will enter executive session to discuss grants, Wallace Street and Lincoln Avenue improvements, employee medical coverage, and IT contracts. The agenda includes approval of December 2024 minutes and January 2025 bills.

The Lake City Council approved Ordinance 2024.010 for second reading, allowing a five-lot single-family housing development, despite objections from some council members about flood risks and affordability.
