Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning & Zoning Commission denied a major PUD amendment request to swap the school land portion of Tract E with multi-family development and allocate a different parcel for a future school site, voting 7-0. The commission separately approved, also 7-0, a request to renovate an existing cabin in open space as a special event space and swap that open space parcel with land of equal size and desirability. Both requests were part of the Haymeadow PUD Amendment (File #PUDA20-01). The commission also approved a 5-year Special Use Permit for a contractor yard at 629 Sawatch Road with an added landscaping condition.

Open Space & Recreation Advisory Committee

The Open Space & Recreation Advisory Committee approved a motion to support funding for a changing stall at the Haymaker Trailhead as part of spring 2021 improvements. The committee supported staff evaluating commercial use of town open space and trails.

The commission heard presentations from town staff and consultants Zehren & Associates, reviewed two preferred concepts with and without a potential I-70 interchange, and received public input on land use mixes, density, and connectivity. The meeting adjourned with a motion that passed 7-0.

The rezoning of the 13.5-acre parcel to Rural Residential and the permit for approximately 53 RV and tent sites were each approved by a 5-0 vote. The Special Use Permit includes conditions such as a 6-month maximum stay for RVs, designated future parking, and requirements to address a nonconforming two-unit dwelling on the property. The commission also approved an amendment to the West Eagle Sub Area Plan to update its future land use map.

The Town of Eagle is holding a virtual kickoff meeting for the Grand Avenue Corridor Plan stakeholder group. Open Space & Recreation Advisory Committee
