Zoning

The Dubuque County Board of Health approved the FY23 operating budget of $1,357,383 and appointed Samantha Kloft as Interim Director of the Health Department. The board also voted on several ARPA proposals to include in the budget request to the Board of Supervisors, including the Health Department 5-Year Restructuring Plan and the Food Policy Council Food Systems Proposal, while declining the Food Policy Council Improvement Request and MercyOne Opioid Program. Food Policy Council

Conservation Board

The Dubuque County Conservation Board will conduct a work session to review proposed expenditures for fiscal year 2023. The board will also discuss estimated replacement items for the period from FY 2023 through FY 2026.

The Dubuque County Conservation Board approved the proposed FY2023 budget during a work session, which included suggested increases in golf fees (from $140,000 to $150,000) and other recreation fees (from $270,000 to $300,000), as well as various expenditure adjustments such as increases for fuels, electric service, and other charges (to cover trail/road repair). The board prioritized capital expenditures totaling over $1 million, including trail counters, Mowing to Monarchs, and land acquisition. The motion to approve the budget was made by Wickham and seconded by Davis, and it carried.

A variance request by Robbie and Lindsey Culbertson was withdrawn, and the Herrig case was initially tabled but later approved.

Board of Health
