Town CAC Updates Bob Schenker - Planted tree. Earth Day- Shared video about micro plastics for Earth Day. There was a roadside cleanup. Chatham- Planted tree for Earth Day. Grant NYS DEC Invasives - Krellen P ond Phragmites will be remediated. Habitat Mapping using QGIS and Avenza Hawthorne Valley, including town properties and Allen Deveau Bird Sanctuary. Interesting to do ground truthing . Three properties covered, Town properties. Christian S. - Received gra nt money and hired a consultant to do an NRI. Planted 5 trees, Service Berry. Nature Trail on 9J gets sand washed across the road during high rains. The State built a catchment basin, and some of the sandy soils are coming from the conservation area, impac ting the ravine length. A small grant was received and the town built a bridge. This year the trail will be re-routed to the new bridge and some areas that were washed out. Riversweep May 1st week, 5 sites to do, Sandbar park , Nutten Hook, Ice House Road, Stuyvesant Landing, DEC campground area, Swire Preserve.
