Community Engagement & Inclusion Committee

The Community Engagement & Inclusion Committee will meet with the Malden Youth Council to establish future goals and receive training on city business and social media. The committee also plans to discuss a youth summit and approve minutes from previous meetings.

The Rules & Ordinance Committee voted unanimously to amend and favorably recommend Paper 431-24, which updates dimensional and appearance standards for wireless communications equipment. The amendment increases cabinet size from 7 to 24 cubic feet, adjusts pole height allowances, and lowers ground clearance to 8 feet. Other papers were not taken up due to time constraints.

The Malden City Council elected Councillor Ryan O'Malley as Council President for 2025 by unanimous vote. The License Committee discussed 2025 license renewals and decided that businesses with updated plot plans showing fewer than 15 parking spaces may be granted licenses with a condition limiting the number of cars to that amount, under authority of MCC 6.08.100 (A)(5). No amendment to MCC 6.08.100 (B)(3) is needed. The committee also approved the November 12, 2024 minutes as amended and noted that Paper 83-24 has no further conditions.

Finance Committee
