County Commissioners

The Caroline County Commissioners will hold a work session to discuss several items, including a second reading and public hearing on Legislative Bill #2022-001, a third reading and potential enactment of Legislative Bill #2021-004, a proclamation for Mentoring Month, a citation for the NAACP's 75th anniversary, a purchasing coordinator class specification, the SDAT 2022 reassessment, and a county large projects update. The meeting will also include a closed session for personnel matters. No official action will be taken during the work session.

The County Commissioners approved an additional $500,000 from ARPA funds for the Detention Center rehabilitation project, bringing the total to about $7 million. They also enacted Legislative Bill #2021-004, which repeals and reenacts Chapter 49 regarding OPEP. The public hearing for the composting definitions bill was left open until January 18. Other items included proclamations for Mentoring Month and the NAACP's 75th anniversary, and discussions on a Purchasing Coordinator position and property reassessments.

County Commissioners

• Gateway Construction, INC. Contract – Marydel Community Park Phase II

The County Commissioners voted to adopt staff's recommendation that no reapportioning of the three Board of Election Districts is needed, as 2020 census data showed population distribution remained nearly identical to 2010. They also advanced two legislative bills: one changing OPEB Board membership (second reading) and one amending composting facility definitions (first reading). A contract for Marydel Community Park Phase II was approved on the consent agenda. No other substantive decisions were made.
