Solar Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan Amendments
Overview
The Board of Supervisors adopted amendments to the County’s zoning ordinance related to solar
energy facilities at the August Board meeting. The Board also authorized the Planning Commission to
review the zoning ordinance and the comprehensive plan as they guide and regulate solar facilities,

regulations governing land use decisions related to solar facilities.
This work session will focus on the draft amendments to the comprehensive plan as well as revisiting
the amendments to the zoning ordinance that were adopted by the Board in August. Planning
Commissioners are asked to review the adopted zoning ordinance language and the draft
comprehensive plan language, use the comment trackers to identify areas of discussion, and return
