Historic Preservation Commission

Planning Commission
The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission will vote on multiple zoning changes and special use permit requests for residential and commercial properties. Commissioners will consider rezonings near Whit Davis Road and Newton Bridge Road, alongside applications along US 29 Highway. A proposed Westclox Special District Overlay and a corridor land use change will also be discussed. The agenda includes standard administrative updates and public comment periods.

Hearings Board

Public Safety Civilian Oversight Board

Athens in Motion Commission
The Athens in Motion Commission reviews and discusses the final draft of the Athens in Motion plan revision from Toole Design Group, with a deadline for commissioner comments by June 5. Staff provide updates on the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan (recently accepted), applying for implementation funding, the RAISE grant, and contract negotiations for the Reconnecting Communities Program on Hawthorne and Oglethorpe. The commission also notes the passage of TSPLOST 2026 and plans for a Better Bus Athens networking workshop.

Airport Authority

Land Bank Authority
